The vast wheatbelt landscape, history and natural environment has inspired many local artists. The Shire boasts many talented arts and crafts people often featuring in our own Regional Art Space. The very progressive Lake Grace Artists Group contributes to many public artworks around the shire.

PUBLIC Silo Trail Newdegate

FORM’s PUBLIC Silo Trail is a creative project celebrating regional Western Australia. The initiative transforms country infrastructure into sites of world class mural art, with the State’s Epic grain storage silos the highest profile land marks in the series. The project aims to promote regional communities as vital and vibrant contributors to Australia’s cultural identity.

Lake Grace Regional Artspace

Drop into the Lake Grace Regional Artspace and immerse yourself in creativity with the current major exhibition or view quality regional art in the window box display. Admire and purchase original artworks for your family and friends from our artists gift shop. Have a chat with interesting local artists and members of the Lake Grace Artists Group each Tuesday or join in and learn some secrets with an art experience workshop.

Located on the Main Street in Lake Grace next to the Visitor Centre.

Follow a rich collection of stories to discover the heritage of the local community. Plaques  are displayed in the sidewalk on the main street in the town of Lake Grace.

Skate Park

The Newdegate Skate Park is a professionally designed active precinct, suitable for all ages and skill levels, and appropriate for bike, skateboard and scooter.
The space includes:

Adventure Playground
Shade Shelters
Family space
Located on the corner of Mitchell St and Maley St in the centre of Newdegate. A great spot to stop and enjoy on your travels!

Mosiac Garden Gallery

The mosaic garden gallery features 365 colourful mosaics that reflect the lives of past and present community members. Located next to the medical centre in Lake Grace up Memorial Drive.

Pioneering Women Mural

A mural featuring 48 inspiring women – leaders, activists, community builders, home-makers and sportswomen – from across the Lake Grace Shire.

Their remarkable stories are told in Far Site –Women of the Salt Lake Country by local author Michelle Slarke. The book is available for purchase through the Lake Grace Visitor Centre.

Painted by artist Irene Osborne, the Mural is located opposite the Visitor Centre in Lake Grace town centre.

Varley Rabbit Cemetery

The small township of Varley is in the Lake Grace Shire.

This memorial was erected by the local community in memory of all of the rabbits who lost their lives at the Rabbit Proof Fence.

The rabbit proof fence consists of three fences erected in 1902 to keep rabbits out of WA.

The fence is the longest fence in the world, totaling a distance of 3,236.8 kms.

AIM Penny Pathway

Follow a short pathway (50m) of commemorative plaques from Apex Park to the  AIM Museum. Located on the edge of town on Stubbs Street heading towards Dumbleyung.
